It was Friday, October 14th 2005 that Amy started her day out by going to school in the morning. She came home from the bus around 4:25 that afternoon coming in the house laughing letting us know that she came running down the driveway up to where her step father's truck was parked and not knowing when she looked back for something while she was running when she turned around she ran right smack into the side mirror on the truck! We laughed with her then I let her know since she was in a "laughing mood" she got her cell phone bill in the mail that was over $300.00!! She didn't seem to mind much, and got ready to leave for work. When she walked out she replied, "Bye, love you guys" and I said "Yea right" kidding around with her. Amy told me she had to work from 5-3 but she actually only worked until 11:00 calling me around 11:15 to see if she could stay over at a friends. I was just getting her 23 month old brother to bed and told her no and to just come on home hanging up on her because if I didn't she would have went on and on.  Around 3:00 I heard someone knocking at the door and thinking I had locked it and that it was Amy I rushed to the door only to find two men standing there. They let me know that Amy had been in a fatal accident. I couldn't feel anything. My whole body went numb. Amy was driving her car with two other friends looking down at her cell phone to make a call and failed to negotiate a curve which caused her car to roll over ejecting her from the vehicle. She was not wearing her seatbelt. Amy died instantly of a broken neck. The two other passengers survied with no serious injuries and were not thrown from the car.
That night will haunt me for the rest of my life. I never got a chance to say goodbye but I did get to see her and let her know that I love her.
There was a fundraiser put together called "Seatbelts For Amy" that consist of silicone bracelts in her favorite color red that all proceeds will go towards the purchase of her headstone.
You are now free from all the evil here on earth and are at peace with Jesus and the angels. You are sadly missed but forever will be in our hearts. We love you Amy!
